I've never bought 2nd hand nappies before. Are there any health risks associated with purchasing used nappies? My BBH have seen almost 5 years of use & they're getting a bit threadbare :-)
Thanks

I have never had an issue, I always strip wash all new second hand nappies after I buy them.
Yeah I've bought heaps of second hand itti bitti's for this bub and have just strip washed them all. Obviously I haven't used them yet but if they are washed properly then I don't think you'll have a problem.
How do you do a strip wash? In writing this post I'm trying to think what health issue could arise & how you'd know anyway... What happens if the previous bub had a bad illness/disease? (probably pretty rare...)?
I soaked mine in charlies soap, then washed with canestan/dettol in the fabric softener section. And no issues here.
I strip wash them too. I also shared nappies between my DDs 1 and 2 with no problems, although obviously I knew neither had a disease or anything icky.
What does strip wash mean? Just using Canasten/Dettol?
You do a load with a few drops of dishwashing liquid. And then a few rinse cycles until all the bubbles are gone. Gets rose of laundry detergent/softener buildup.
We have used heaps, and we're all still alive. :D Sun sun sun, I reckon. I don't think there's many diseases tht could hang around in a nappy.
