DSs were biking and scooting along the foot path from one end of the park/playground towards the carpark. It's 4.45. There are only a few people left.
I notice a car drive off with the stroller still parked next to the door. Angle parking, and stoller is on the non-driver side. She/he obviously didn't look back. It's a very big park/playground, on a busy 4 lane route. Not the best suburb, and plenty of foot traffic too. Fairly cheapish (i think?) looking stroller.
What would you do?
Take it to the police station, post a note on a light pole near the car park and hope for the best.
How much time do you have?
Option 1: stand guard and see if parents return for it.
Option 2: call police/take to police station.
Option 3: leave it.
Option 4: see if there is any identifying label on it, try to contact owners.
Nick it.... Nah, only joking
Put it in the car and chase off after them until they think they're being tailgated/stalked, freak out and drive to the police

I waited a bit, then deliberately took my time strapping the boys in. Then sat in the car for a bit. Then folded it up and put it in my boot.
I didn't think the police would be interested? Seems too small fry. Espeshuly in Frankston. I figured they might have more important things to deal with, but i wasn't sure. I just thought i'd ring in the morning - police and Council, seeing as it is a council park.
Most of the people i know would go straight out to BigW tomorrow and buy another one. But at least if no one claims it, it didn't get trashed and used as a weapon in some late night shenanigans.
I felt weird taking it. Weird. But my intentions were good. I wish i had thought about the 'note' LS. I'll drive past tomorrow and tape a note to something.
What about FB? Would you mention it on FB? Just to get the word out there.

I'd take it to the police. They may not have the spare funds to replace it.

Fb page is a great idea. Lenny I wouldn't have thought of the note thing either, I will remind myself of that if I'm in that situation...!
An update for those that may be interested...
The police baulked. "What? So now effectively you've stolen it. In future just leave things where you find them. It's your responsibility to sort it out now - you took it." Ok. Does that include handbags? Money? Dogs? Children? I hung up, somewhat bewildered.
The council suggested the police were my best bet. Until i recounted the above converstion. Then they thanked me, said that they agreed if it had been left it would have probably been used to smash windows with later that night, or used to beat someone up. They took my name and number.
My note went up, a little later than hoped as i spent the next couple of days somewhat under the weather. But next time i'll think of it straight away.
So, in future, it's each to themselves and don't ask the police. (Interestingly enough he didn't even know what park i was referring to. It's huge and incorporates 2 suburbs and walking tracks and dog areas and footy ovals and soccer too, plus two children's playgrounds.)
