2 yr old and possible glandular fever
So DS2.5 has been sick on and off for about 6 months.
In the last 2 months he has been sick with fevers, red inflamed throat and headaches every second week.
We get one week where he is back to his bubbly self and then the next he is lethargic, in pain and very pale.
As of about 2 weeks ago I took him up to the doctor again thinking that they would say he has another virus and to just live on panadol and nurofen until it leaves his body.
This time he had swollen and very pussy tonsils and was given a script of penicillin. So we finished the 9 days and he was back to himself.
Then the next day his left side of his throat from his ear to his chin was swollen like a tennis ball. It has gone down considerably but the doctor still thought it was huge and they were still very pussy and red.
The doc then sent us off to get him some blood tests for glandular fever and with both arms now sporting bandages we have the blood tests done.
Could this be the cause of his regular occurring fevers and what does it mean if he does have it? Not really sure on what it does to the body.
The poor lil guy must be so sick of feeling ill and 6 months of it full on is a worry. I just want him to be happy again!
