I was wondering if someone could help me.
I have an advanced payment on my FTB it still owes about $40 and I was wondering if/ how I can repay this early and then get the advance again.
I would like to use it for my car service for rego. I remember reading on here that I could do this but can not see any option on line.
Any help would be greatly appreciated :)
you can't change the amount online at this stage
you can contact FAO and ask them to deduct the full amount from your next payment, and then you can apply for the advance again the day you get paid - which you can do online
this option is only available with FTB advances. I did it myself a week or so ago.

I've just tried to do this over the phone and the lady I spoke to didn't know anything about it :(
I insisted I was right so she put me on hold again then came back to say that I can pay out the advance but cant get another on this week as I can only get an advance every 26weeks :(
When I asked if the fact it was a one off (not recurring) loan made any difference she didn't know :(
Also the computers are down so she couldn't help anyway *sigh* what a waste of time :(
I had the same problem and was told to go to a centrelink office and pay over the counter, you have to take correct money becuase they don't give change. I paid it, they gave me a receipt and I applied for the advance that night after the payment had shown up on online services.
You can change the amount of the advance at any time (I'm currently paying 185 a fn cos I want it paid back by a certain date). Once it's paid back in full, you can apply again. This is for ftb advances only though! It doesn't apply to any other sort of advance (you can increase repayments on them but not apply again early)
Tinks was lucky to be able to apply that night. Sometimes manual payments at the office take longer to process. And they are definitely not the preferred repayment option. If you have an odd amount (like 7c or something) you cannot pay this way as they can only accept the full five cents. They can't take the extra amount (10c) so you will still owe 2c
It's a family tax advance I'm trying to pay out early but just didn't have any luck on the phone - my car needs loads of work doing which is why I need the money :(
I was told I could go into a branch office and pay it in but don't have access to a working car to be able to do that!!!
I'll try again later, hopefully the computers will be up and running soon.
Got it sorted - spoke to someone different this time and she knew exactly what I wanted to do and why. She was great and very helpful.
How much of an advance are you able to get? (I didn't realise you could get advances).
You can get up to $1k but it depends on your circumstances. If you're registered online then have a look on there.
it depends on your ftba eligibility. it will show on your online services. it defaults to being paid over 13 fortnights, but you can pay it in larger installments (like i'm doing) to get it done sooner
you can also have more than one advance going - so if you took an advance of $300 now, and in two months you needed more, you could take more (subject to your limit of course) - you'd end up paying two advances alongside each other while they overlap.
