So annoyed!
After seeing a fair few threads lately on what people are told regarding breastfeeding and certain medication and info I have recieved myself or more misinformation. I'm so annoyed and sick of it! Like why can't GP's, specialist, Dr's and anybody else who prescribes medications become more informed of what medications can and can't be used whilst breastfeeding and if not what alternatives their are instead and support for the mother so she can have an informed supported decision! Ugh I wonder how many mothers breastfeeding relationships are lost due to this misinformation!?
I myself was told that I could not breastfeed by both the anaethetist and OB after my recent D&C, which I of course double checked with others so that I didn't have to do this.

Misinformation in general ****es me off. Its thier job to know an they have no clue!

It would be nice if they knew enough to know when they didn't know the answer, and owned up to that (and knew where to direct mothers to find out).

Yes exactly that MadB
Calluna: yes that too! There's plenty of that around aswell!

Yes! Very frustrating! I was whinging about this to mum yesterday! I got told my normal antihistamine was fine to use while bf DS1 but I found out only a few days ago that it wasn't cos it can effect supply. Something I struggled with our whole bf journey.
Now to find an alternative this summer...
