Hi! Not personally but a friend of mine got shingles when she was 23 weeks and went into premature labour! I would be seeking medical advice ASAP
I have just gotten over singles myself. I did a lot of research and everything I have read says that singles is not harmful to an unborn baby.
Definately go to the doctor ASAP, but according to my research it's fine. Chicken pox its different but because you are already immune to it baby should be fine.
Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
[for Calluna]: I already went to the doctor and she prescribed some medication for me. The doctor said the same: no harm for the baby, but I wanted to see other experiences.
In how many months you are?How do you feel?Do you have pain?
[for raffy]: How many months did she have when she got in premature labour?
How was the baby?
I did. Not sure how far along I was but no issue for the baby. It can be an issue of you are full term and the rash/blisters come into contact with the baby as they can get Chicken Pox. I didn't take the medication as I try not to take things during pregnancy.
Thanks for your reply!
I wanted to stay away from medication too, but the doctor told me that I need to take them.
Im not pregnant, just came across it while reading.
Hope you are feeling better ASAP.
You don't have to take them that Dr is stupid. I've had shingles in both my pregnancies and it's fine to babies not born. And did not take the medication because I don't like to take meds when pregnant either.
Hi,
I just got my results from lab and it seems that I didn't have shingles...it was herpes simplex(type 1).
Anyways...it was good because the doctor took a sample and send it to lab.
