No idea but YUM!!
I know. For the price of a single bubble tea I bought a giant bag of bubbles *drools Homer style*
Yum yum yum I want now!! Lol
I remember my nan making creamy tapioca that was yum too
Can I ask what you do with them?
You boil them and then you use them to make bubble/pearl tea or deserts. They're kind of gooey and gummy and yummy.
Onyx, I've had some sealed in an airtight container for well over a year and they are fine.
Littlelara, you soak them and boil them with milk, sugar and vanilla and its like a party in your mouth.
My grandma used to make a mean lemon sago.
I made Sago a few weeks ago and put custard powder in the milk... it was awesome!!!! custard sago... yum yum yum....!
took my back to childhood (although mum never did it with custard...)
DH and DSD were not that impressed though.... :(
Sago!! That's what's it's called. I need a recipe anyone got a nice one?
coconut milk sago with melon is like a disco for my tongue.
Sago/tapioca lasts a long, long time. It's basically balls of starch.
We do pineapple sago. It was my mil's recipe (mil passed away in 01) and I am the only one that has it so it is a massive treat for my DH.
I have had sago in an open but re-sealed pack for about 6 months that I've used with no issue.
Oh man! Now u make me wanna get up & go find that packet and soak it for tomorrow.
If you buy the McKenzie brand, they call it seed tapioca and they have a recipe on the back which is really nice, but if you good tapioca recipes you come up with loads of alternate recipes that are all much of a muchness and the only real difference is if they need to be pre-soaked or just cooked straight away. Pre-soaked doesn't take as long.
Myturn, that just means more for you ;)
I store it in an airtight container just like barley, quinoa, millet, couscous, rice, lentils etc, I'd say it will keep a good 6+ months.
