What do you think of the name Samara??

I have always loved the nn Sam and Sami for a girl but I am not big on Samantha. It has always felt really clunky too me. So I have been considering Samara. I wasn't sure to begin with but its starting to grow on me especially because of the Sami nn. My husband is very into trendy names, nearly everything I suggest is vetoed by him so I have given up on a lot of my names. I like the fact that Samara isn't trendy really either but I'm still not sure if I really love it. The other names on our short list are.

Addison
Indigo
Alexis
Isabelle
Imogen
Emery.


My other children are R iley, J ackson and P iper.

Just wanting to see what everyone's initial thoughts on the name are... and on our other names on the short list too. TIA :D

I quite like Samara. There is a Samara at my kids kindy. She gets Mara for short. Sami is a cute nn for a little girl. I think it fits really well with your other kids names.
From your list, my favourite is Imogen but I also like Alexis & Emery.

I like Samara, Addison, Alexis, Isabelle, & Imogen, sorry not a fan of different or unusual names!

On your list I also like Alexis and Indigo

I like Samara. The only name I am not a fan of on your list is Isabelle. I think any of the other names would be a lovely choice.

I like Samara. In DS's class he has a Samiah pronounced Sum-eye-a. I really like it.

Out of your list, Alexis and Addison are what jump out for me.:)

I really like it. I have friends with a Samira too, which I think is also very pretty.

I love Isabelle (obviously), Addison (becoming popular if that's a factor for you) and Imogen (again, friends with an Imogen and she gets Immi which is really sweet)

I Really like Samara but funnily enough I dont like it shortened to Sam... From your list the only ones I don't like are Emery and Indigo.

I like the names on your shortlist better than Samara, but that's only because I knew a girl named Samara and I really did not like her so its just an association thing.

Samara is nice, but as with a previous poster, we had a not nice one at school and I associate that name with that person. My pick of your list would be Addison, its actually on my list but DH isn't a fan.

I love it! I really wanted to call the twins Indigo and Samara (or Indigo and Aria) but DH wasn't keen at all :rolleyes:

Love samara. Dd1 had a nicu nurse with that name.

Love Samara....and love being able to shorten it to Sami or Sam and at least she has options when she gets older to what she prefers. Don't particularly like Indigo prefer it as Indi and the other names on your list are cute too.
