Hoping this is my last TT question!

DD1 is 3 1/2. She's been day TT for a couple of months but still wears a nappy overnight. She's going really well with it. In the morning, I'm pretty certain she wakes up dry. She got up at around 6 this morning and took herself to the toilet. Came into bed with us and was definitely dry.

I've hurt my back so it's been a bit of a slow morning. Got her dressed and she's weed in her nappy. She told me she had done it. When I asked her if she had her undies on instead what would she have done, she told me she would have gone in the toilet.

So I'm thinking she's going in her nappy because it's easy. Would you go cold turkey on nappies for night time?

If she is dry overnight then it can't hurt to give it a try for a few nights. Sounds like she is nearly there.

I would put her in undies overnight. When I started doing that, I always took them for a 'dream wee' just before I went to bed to make sure that they had an empty bladder to get them through the night kwim?

I'd go cold turkey. We started it from the beginning and both kids worked it out. There were the very occasional accidents, but that's pretty normal IMO.

I would try cold turkey too. It worked for DS. He did take a back step at one point but it was his choice. He wanted to wear a nappy so he did. We had used mainly cloth but disposables overnight. Once he started waking up dry, we used up the sposies then just used cloth overnight to save having to buy more. He wasn't thrilled about that lol!

Jumping in here..... I need some advice on this too!

DS2 doesn't want to wear his nappy and is now taking himself to the toilet without asking/telling us first. BUT, if he still has his nappy on in the morning he will pee in it instead of going to the toilet.

DH and I have been talking to him, for example, when we put his nappy on for a sleep we say, soon you won't have to wear a nappy. He then tells us that he wont need them.

We were thinking of going cold turkey over the christmas break when DH and I both have time off.

Sounds like she's overtaken DD! DD wakes up wet, every morning. No idea when we will be out of night nappies! I've started talking to her about me taking her for a "dream wee", gosh that's a great term :lol: and she seems vaguely interested so I might try that...

Have to do it! Used our last nappy last night and really don't want to buy more. Have a pack of pull ups I might try for bed too, she treats those as undies now. Here we go!!!

i am cautious by nature, AND lived in a rental with WHITE CARPET when dd was tt-ing, so my "insurance" was to go, NAPPIES - CLOTH TRAINERS - UNDIES.

The cloth trainers had hidden waterproofing, and were pull up style, so dd regarded them as her knickers. I had a brolly sheet on the bed, so when she did wet overnight, the cloth trainer caught most of it, any overflow was caught by brollysheet, and i didn't even have to change sheets (just the brollysheet and fresh trainers).

She was in cloth trainers for about a month in total, and they were still in great condition, so no trouble selling them 2nd hand.

How are things now PacRak?

We used pull ups for about three nights, then she flat out refused to put them on so we didn't push the issue and sent her to bed in undies. She's been nappy and pull up free since. We even went away where the toilet was quite a hike without a hitch. She wet the bed here at home two nights ago, but both DH and I didn't realise she had a big drink of water as she climbed into bed (found her empty drink bottle later).

I'm so glad it's done. It has been the most frustrating thing in parenting for me, seeing her fight against it for so long.

Gigi what brand were the cloth trainers? I haven't been able to find any with waterproofing.
