Car that fits 3 seats across but not a people mover or SUV
So my car is off the road and will be for a good 4 to 6 weeks - throw Christmas in there and who knows what that is in reality. We've been talking for a while about upgrading DH's car and/or getting me a "muppet bus" AKA a people mover - something we were going to look at doing next year but given I'm not without a way of getting the girls around at all unless we spend thousands on a hire car we're thinking of bringing it forward.
I'm pretty up there on what the pros and cons are of lots of the people movers and 7 seater SUVs, but I'm wondering who has just a good old fashioned 5 seat, 4 door sedan that fits three seats across the back - two boosters and a rear facing SnS Meridien.
Thanks very much ladies. Buying a new car should be fun and exciting, but given the circumstances that we've found ourselves in I'm finding it very stressful and struggling to work out what is the best way for us to go.

In both our magna verada station wagon and our Commodore we fit 2 boosters and a rf meridian. :)

Nrma also did a road test of cars for kid seats in 2010, its on their website, shows how many seats fit, how accessible anchor points and seat belts are etc.

We have a 2012 ford territory & it fits very comfortably our rear facing capsule for newborn, maxi rider for 3 year old & safe sound compaq for 2 year old. We needed a new car as we had an accident in the old one, I called baby bunting and asked the car seat fitting man what car would work with what. He was really helpful and we went for the territory. Plus ours converts into a 7 seater too if we need it.
