hmmmm...???
I have noticed the last few mornings when I wake up with a full bladder that my uterus (although small....the size of a cupped hand) is bulging off to the right hand side. Quite predominately. Have any of you had this happen and if so, what was it?
I googled it and it came up with a heart shaped uterus which I'm pretty sure I don't have. Surely they would have picked that up whilst I was pregnant with my son?

Not sure what could be going on there? Maybe see what your GP says. It's not like you just had a baby recently and the muscles in your tummy have separated etc.

So many reads and only 1 reply :( Thanks for relying Three Graces.
I woke up this morning and it was perfectly central....who knows what happened the other few days!

I'm much further along but my baby likes to hang out on the right side making my belly look completely lop sided. I wonder if yours is doing the same...

Yeah, it sucks when you don't get much of a reply.
I was just thinking this morning that the lovely chiro who I saw with my third pregnancy earlier this year, used to say that the ligaments from your pelvis attach to the uterus and sometimes they can pull more on one side, especially as the baby gets heavier etc. The pelvis is always trying to right itself, to keep you upright etc and that's when I used to feel quite a bit of pain in third tri. She was great at releasing this and making sure that everything was in alignment and moving well. Out of all three pregnancies, I had pelvic instability with the first two and I could barely walk by the end of the second pregnancy. Third time around, I saw the chiro and I didn't have the same pain and could walk well, throughout the pregnancy. She really loosened it up and baby was fully head down and engaged by the end of the pregnancy. Something that my boys never achieved!
So I'd say if you still notice it happening throughout your pregnancy, maybe get somebody who is experienced in working with pregnant mums to have a look.

In all honesty I wouldn't worry about it at all. Being early its highly likely that your bladder (on the left) has just pushed up your uterus. And possibly its giving you Braxton hicks which is why its easier to feel the firm rounded shape. Many women get BH from that early (myself included ;)) and having a full bladder is one of the triggers. Hth :)

hmmmm...???
I've never heard anyone talk about this during pregnancy but it's really common for a very full bladder to displace the uterus to the side in the early post-partum period. As far as I know it's normal and nothing sinister. I remember a midwife remarking on it when she examined me and my uterus was off centre day 1 or 2 post-birth - she just told me to go pee.

Thanks ladies!!! it hasn't happened again since I first posted about it. If it happens again I'll talk to the dr.
