I need a few snails. Every now and again. Have a lizard, and the *only* thing it will eat are snails! Loves 'em! Anyway, I go out in the morning after rain, but they have already disappeared (the speedy little buggas! Lol). How I can attract them? I can' remember what attracts them, aside from planting veges, and can't do that at the moment... Also, I don't want to kill them.
Pour them some beer. LOL
Seriously, if its raining you need to go out with a torch while its still dark. Otherwise you could try putting some upside down pots or lengths of pipe in damp or shady spots around the garden. The snails will go in there to hide and all you have to do is come along and get them.
yeah all of what MD said - they seem to love being under the pots we have laying around, they climb the dark side of the sun dial, inside old water feature (that is upside down) - basically anywhere dark and damp
if you lived local i'd invite you over after the rain every tie - it's impossible to walk from door to car across the car without the sound of crunching snails under foot

I've heard beer too. I had a snail trap that recommended using beer as bait.
Thank you. I actually forget to go out while it is raining to go look for them! I will put a couple of pots in the garden for them, hopefully they'll rock up. Even if it doesn't rain (which it really doesn't seem to much here), will they still come, maybe just with the sprinkler?
