Going for diabetes test cos of big baby...
I'm just a bit confused.i had an ultrasound on Saturday to check for irregular heart beat which was picked up on thurs (all turned out to b fine heart beat wise),however I got a call from the midwife saying that they are concerned with the size of the baby. It measured to b 3kg on the ultrasound.i am 35 weeks and am just not sure if that sounds that big. Could midwives be overreacting or is it a cover their bum thing to send me for this diabetes test so late in pregnancy?

That's not that big at all, there seems to be a big push to label everyone as gd these days with only a short amount of time to go I don't know that I would want the testing done. Dd2 was 3.25kg at 37 weeks with gd and was still in 0000's and tiny.

I had a 2.75kg prem at 33 weeks. Definitely no GD as my doctor had accidentally sent me for the long test. Was told later it was a super efficient placenta. (that's good not bad)
Yes it's a little larger than average, but it's not that big.

Thanks for the replies.yes it's all very confusing. I do know I'm carrying more in my belly this time round (last time the weight gain was all over my body).my son was 7pd4oz and was a bit early so maybe this bub will arrive ahead of time too? I have my test on Friday so we will see how it pans out.
