3yo kindy in SA
I'm looking for information on 3yo kindy in SA. Do they even offer it? Or is it only private centres that do it? I am trouble finding any info except for 4yo/pre-school type kindy. DS turns 3 24th June next year so obviously I'm being over prepared cos there's heaps of time but I like having my ducks in a row if you know what I mean.

You might find that childcare centres offer a kindly program around that age; Blake's moving up to the kindy room at childcare in Jan (he'll be 3 1/2)

3yo kindy in SA
DS moved to the kindy room/program when he turned three. He only goes to childcare 2 days pw but does the kindy program there - loves it. Can spell all the names on our family

Ds is starting pre-school next year it is private but receives funding from government. He will go 1 day Per week next year and min 15 hours a week year after. He will be 5.5 when he starts school. Also it is within the Childcare centre. Hth :)

I looked into this at one point. I think it's only childcare centres and private schools that do this.

Re: 3yo kindy in SA
That's frustrating! It sounds like its only offered privately. DS1 doesn't go to childcare at all do I didn't really want to send him just to get 3yo kindy. Oh well I guess I will call our local cc and see what they say.

I looked into 3yo Kindy for DS, after reading about it on here, had never heard of it previously...but I had no luck finding anything that wasnt within a cc centre.
DS is starting next year 4yo kindy locally.

Based on when his birthday is he will only be eligible for a place at a public when he is 4.5 (the cut off date to determine which year he starts is in May). So as other have said the other options are private schools ELC programs, private pre-schools or kindy programs in CCC. I guess another option would be occasional care - do you know if there are any kindy's or community centres that offer this in your area?
