Foot wear
We have wood floors except in the kitchen, bathrooms and laundry where its tiles.
Hubby goes crazy for the kids to wear slippers. He feels that its cold (which is very bad) and dirty not to wear them. That isn't going to change.
I don't care. I wear barefeet in summer, socks most of the year but slippers if I feel my feet are cold.
We live in a dusty area and I mop or vacuum 6/7 days. atm we are in winter with low temps.
What kind of floor do you have and what foot wear -if any do you /your family wear?
Im just curious. I'm watching my hubby chase dd (18mths) around trying to put slippers on her, for the 3rd time in 30mins

We have a combination of timber floors, tiles and carpet
For most of the time we all wear bare feet, particularly DD & DH who 'run hot'. I alternate to wearing slippers/socks when my feet are cold to bare feet.
-
Tiles and carpet here. Most of the time I like to wear something on my feet - partially because my tiles are hideous and an hour after mopping they feel tacky again, partially because I'm a cold bod. DD is obsessed with socks ATM and would wear them all day and night if we let her! Which we mostly do! DS1 does what he's told :) And DH mostly has bare feet!

Bare feet here as inside is a no shoe zone and we have combo of carpet, wood and tiles. I vacuum every day unless I get caught up I may miss a day.
DD lives being naked and rarely keeps anything on especially her feet lol

Foot wear
Carpet & tiles here, I am either barefoot or socks, dh usually always barefoot & DS is obsessed with socks as well, so either socks or bare( if we can get the socks off!) :)

We have carpet and tiles. Inside is generally a no shoe zone. Depending on the weather we tend to either have bare feet, socks or slippers on.

I can see this being a dilemma with us too...
We are both European...but DH is more "traditional". Clearly I must be on my death bed because I rarely wear shoes inside, or even in the yard for that matter :) his mum is constantly panicking about my lack of footwear.
He's the type that wears his socks and lovely slip on sports thongs!! Haha such an old man trapped in a 20-something's body!!
He calls me a gypsy...should be interesting who wins with dd :)
Oh and we have tiles and carpet.

Foot wear
I can count the amount of times Amelia has worn shoes on one hand. I hardly ever wear shoes myself, an did I do it's usually a pair of thongs. I don't even know where any of my closed-toe shoes are at the moment  Amelia's had a couple pairs of shoes, which have been worn once or twice and then grown out of... I put socks on her occasionally though.

Re: Foot wear
we have hard floors (like a lino but looks like wood with notches - so its 3d) and slate in the kitchen and bathroom. i never wear shoes inside, and only thongs outside. DH puts his thongs on in the kitchen but he is weird =p
i vacuum about 4-5 times a week (mostly cause it puts Spock to sleep) and steam mop the kitchen once a week and the whole house like once a month?
havent even thought about shoes for Spock..altho she did get a couple of pairs when she was born i dont think she fits into them

We have wood floors in the living areas, tiles in the bathrooms and carpets in the bedrooms.
DH and I generally wear shoes in the house. DDs generally take theirs off and either plod around in socks or bare feet.
The floor is often dirty. I go by the rule that germs build immunity :) They barely ever get sick.
Really, I just can't be bothered stressing about something that I don't see as a problem. So they might get dirty feet. Big deal, they have a bath most nights. If they have cold feet, they're old enough to tell me and/or put socks and slippers on.

I hate wearing shoes in the house and the first thing I do when I come home is take them off. We have tiles and carpet and go bare feet or socks. In winter we wear slippers as tiles are freezing.
