Anyone else got a destructo 5yo in the house?
I know we're coming down from a really busy week, and a couple of very late nights, so I'm expecting some tired-behaviour. But I'm being yelled at, pushed around, having toys thrown when he doesn't get what he wants - it's really OTT and normally he's a happy, co-operative little guy. Is anyone else getting this with 5yo's? Is it normal pre-prep behaviour? Any tips for managing it, cos at the moment it's making January seem like it's going to be a very long month
As I'm writing this, he's opened every drawer in the kitchen, which is kind of funny, because it's not nearly as annoying as he's hoping it will be. But it is just silly. Ho hum.

Yes, my dd1 is insane at the moment )a combination of contributing factors). In dealing with it with play dates here (because I can't drive at the min and no public transport), I have my aunt visiting for a week soon, the promise of a trip to the zoo when I can drive, and sending her outside as much as possible. The trampoline and "pool" are a huge energy burner!

Yes same thing here! I thought it was just me. I think it has to do with boredom. DS starts big school in feb and he really needs it. I've been at a loss at how to deal with him. Putting him in his room is the only thing that seems to help and we've started a reward chart of fireman Sam (his favorite).
He has been talking back, being uncooperative, throwing tantrums, hitting and can't entertain himself at all. Im hoping his behaviour improves once he starts school. He was held back as he needed lots of help with fine motor but emotionally he has been ready for awhile.
