Amber necklace... When did you take it off???

DS has had his necklace on since he was 6 months old, he is now 4 and a bit. The other day the necklace fell off (first time in nearly 4 years - great quality!!) simply because it had unscrewed. Anyway I found it on the floor and said "hey J look this fell off" the look on his face was priceless and he was nearly in tears when he realised it wasn't on him. I them put it back on and he kept touching it to see if it was on, bless his cottons.

So I was wondering firstly, when did you take off your child's necklace and I guess he has another year before he starts school and we have to worry about it!!

My 9 year old still wears one on occasions we just tuck it into her school shirt/dress. My 7 yr old chews his or tugs on it (asd so very oral seeking) so he doesn't and I think the 3 year old will wear his forever lol he has been wearing one since a few months and loves it.

My 2.75 year old has just decided to take it off and i am so upset. SHe has had it since she was 4 months. Some days she puts it back on again, but its no longer constant. Unfortunately, she also takes DS' off, so i am trying to persuade her to leave his alone.

My two yr old just cut his last molars and we r bout to have a newborn. So I was going to just give the necklace to the new baby.
Will it still work, or do I really need to cleanse it in the moonlight? Lol

My four yr old had his on up till a few months ago when he took it off or his sister did and now I can't find it :( I want to keep it for him. My 20 mth olds one has been removed also by his sister, I only realised it was gone two weeks ago and not sure we're it is either.

My 8 yr old asd son also wore one for a while too, but he was chewing it so much he cracked/bit off about five of the beads. I notice he had it on last night actually but he has taken it off again this morning.

Can I leave it on dd 24/7???

I always take it off for a sleep and then forget to put it back on....

I leave my kids' ones on all the time little_o.

DS had his on until just after he cut his 2yo molars. The only reason he doesn't still wear it is because it broke (the thread detached from the clasp) :( I didn't replace it as he had cut all his teeth so didn't see the point. DD has been wearing hers since about 2mo and we never take it off.

My 5 year old still wears hers 24/7 as does my 2.5 year old. Waiting for DD3 to be a bit bigger and then i'll pop her in hers...i'm hoping that they wear theirs for as long as possible! amber is awesome!

My DD is 3 and the twins almost 20mths and they wear them 24/7, I'll keep DD's on her for as long as she wants them as I have heard that they also help when they lose baby teeth and cut adult teeth.

Mine have all made the decision themselves - I only have the baby in one now. So I'll just wait until she doesn't want to wear it any more.

DS is 3.5 and still wearing his. They have benifits for adults too so Ill just encourage him to keep wearing it for as long as I can. Shouldnt be much of an issue though, he is very attached to it.

Little O - we leave it on all the time. We only take it off if hes going swimming. When he was really little we put it around his ankle with a sock over it, for sleep times.

I'll leave DD's on until school at this point...she's almost 4

DS just decided recently that he doesn't want to wear it anymore. He's probably had it off for about a month now. I'm holding onto it in case he changes his mind.

DD1 only took hers off recently. Her choice. She sometimes puts it back on now. DD2 keeps telling me 'I always want to take my necklace off' and she's not even 2 yet (I think she just noticed her sister wasn't wearing hers). She has just finished getting her last molar now though so I have let her have it off and will only put it back on if she asks.

Just a couple of weeks ago actually :( One day DS (he was 3 in Dec) just came out and said 'I don't look gorgeous any more can you take my amber off please?' So I did. I was quite sad as he'd had it on since he was 4 months old. I do wonder if someone said something to him about it, but if he doesn't want it on he doesn't have to wear it any more. It's just that after so long with it on it's almost like a part of him. lol Probably silly pg hormones talking.

Not yet, and DD1 is 4y5m. She's a girl though (obviously) so doesn't have stereotypes and judging peers to contend with. It's probably different for a boy, although I'd leave it on unless he wants it off. DP and I wear amber - me for arthritis inflammation and DP for persistent headaches and migraines, and it is amazing - not just for babies/teething.

So upset, DS's clasp broke yesterday :( I'm not used to not seeing it on him.
