WDYT - is she ready?

In the past couple days, DD has been telling me "i stink" when she does a poo (:LOL: her word for it, we joke around saying, "you pooed! you stink!" and laugh, and thats the phrase she's picked up hahaha)

This morning she came over to me before she pooed and said "i stink" then ran off and pooed, and came back and said "i stink" again. I ask her if she's pooed and she says "no. i stink" and keeps saying "i stink"

she did it again when she pooed again later this morning saying the same thing. and trying to pull her nappy down, as if to take it off. she also said "i stink" and got her potty and sat on it, but this was maybe a couple hours before she actually did poo, so maybe she wee'd in her nappy? :dunno:

do you think she's getting towards ready? I have no idea with this stage! :lol: :help:

If the weather is OK, let her go with out nickers on for a while. Leave the potty around, put a seat on the toilet and step so she sit herself and see how she goes.
A Sticker Reward has worked pretty well in my house with DD, she loves getting them and so gets very excited when she does a wee or poo on the toilet.

DD's first day was an absolute disaster, not one wee or poo on the toilet. Day 2 it started to click and day 3 was great. Still a few poo issues here and there, getting there though.
I had only toilet trained boys in the past, so a girl was a whole new experience for me, getting them to wipe the right way and reminding her she is not a boy and needs to sit on the toilet (she has watched her brothers for a long time :lol: )

I also find dresses can be good and bad in that she has trouble with longer dresses trying to it hold up while sitting, shorter dresses or leggins are easier for her to manage. Further along I changed from bikini nickers to boy shorts nickers due to her liking to show everyone she now wore nickies and the bikini nickies just didn't sit the right way on her and revealed a little too much ;)

Give it a go! It won't hurt. DD is doing well on the days she is wearing 'big girl knickers'. If she's not ready, leave it, no harm done ;)

She's 2 next month. I'm in no particular hurry to toilet train, but having said that i'd definitely be happy if she was ready! :lol:

I got some knickers today, i just have to get some paper or cardboard and stickers for when she does a wee or poo, do you think she's too young to fully get the whole reward chart bit?

Chody - that's what i thought, but i just have no idea with this toilet training business... LOL!

I think the sticker reward would work well. Or a surprise box reward, a box full of trinkets from the $2 shop and she gets to put her hand in an get one out when she has done a wee or poo on the toilet or potty is another way of a reward. I had a friend who fully TT her 18mth old. We were all amazed. It can definitely be done at your DD's.

Worth a try, if it's not happening, then try again in 6mths time.
