Isn't a great mix. Brought my first coffee in over a month because we are working so hard to save. And it tastes horrible because I feel guilty I spent money on it and didn't make it at home. Crazy yes.. True... Yes....
No more. Need to save $$$ not spend $5 on a cup of coffee!

Sometimes you need it. It's ok as a treat. Use it as a small reward - made coffee at home for 2 months, allowed one bought coffee
Totally agreed - I am cutting down on coffee to save as well and you do need to have a treat every now and again, all the literature about budgeting and saving shows that people stick to their goals better when they are allowed small rewards/incentives.:
Have you looked at YNAB (You Need a Budget) - even if you don't want the software there is lots of very readable information on the site and there was one section in particular about guilt and the effect can have on budgeting - I think. Unlike other budgeting stuff I have found it is aimed at the right sort of level if you are saving money on coffees etc - whereas alot of budgeting stuff I have read before is more about investing, controlling savings etc so if you have more money to start with.
A sense of being proud of what you have achieved is a much more powerful motivator than guilt. So shut your eyes and think about the awesome savings you have made over the last month from all the coffees you didn't buy - and then enjoy the one thats in your hand. :)
