Has anyone used Witch Hazel for haemorrhoids when pg? Just wondering how it went? Did it help.
I'm not constipated I'm pretty sure it's just all the extra pressure down there that has it enlarged and itchy. So far not painful. So just wondering if Witch Hazel might be worth a try?
I've never used witch hazel, but there is a great over the counter cream you can get.
I also froze a condom with water in it and rested that on my 'roid'.

Oooh frozen condom is a great idea! I'll remember that one. I've been known to hold an ice cube on it before lol
Frozen glove fingers work too
Put the witch hazel in the fridge and use liberally on a cotton ball... Pop the cotton ball onto the 'roid and it's the sweetest relief of all!
Mine didn't go away until after I have birth, but the WH definitely helped with the discomfort.
I have used witch hazel on my face for years but never heard of it used this way.

There is a Witch hazel Balm by Sunspirit... it is nothing short of awesome. Healthfood or natural shops will have it. (TMI) :tmi: You can actually put some on a cotton tip and put it inside as well as liberally outside. Awesome relief!
Thank you everyone! Great idea about the glove fingers and putting the bottle in the fridge too! I'll have a look for the balm as well.
I didn't expect it would go away until after birth but had hoped for a bit of more natural relief before going the hard stuff with chemicals. So I'll definitely be giving it a go.

I also found calendula to be totally awesome for them as well...and for tears etc.
Never used in preg but my ex used to use withhazel whenever he got them and he swears by it. Only thing that worked and he'd tried all over counter stuff.
Witchhazel is brilliant for these. You can get a tub of precut wipes in the Witchhazel from the chemist to wipe on them. Completely got rid of the one I had with DD in a few weeks and it is oh so sweat relief :)
