Baby wearing for newborn with "clicky hips"

Hi,
am after some advice as per the above.
I have a two and half week old boy with "clicky hips". We have a referral for an ultrasound, but the doctor didn't sound too concerned and said we will discuss the results at the 6 week check up. We haven't had the ultrasound done yet, but plan to ASAP.
I purchased a linen Sakura Bloom sling prior to having bubs, and when I have tried to put him in it in an upright position and "froggying" (is that a word????) his legs, he is not a happy camper.
I have only tried three times- once he went to sleep but the other two times he screamed blue murder. I am worried it is not comfortable, and even hurting, his hips..... but then on the other hand, I know it takes perserverance and time for them to get used to carriers and slings.

Does anyone have any experience/advice with this?
I noticed in another thread that someone said the Ergos are great for kids with hip issues, and if need be, I will replace my sling with an Ergo.

No experience with clicky hips or that sling, or Ergo. However, I don't think they scream blue murder while getting used to carriers. I use a Manduca, DS is in frog leg position and has never once seemed uncomfortable. He falls asleep straight away in it.

I spoke to two friends who have girls with clicky hips after being told my baby also had a clicky hip. I ditched the carrier i had (baby bjorn) which is bad for hips and got a hug a bub which is one of the "safer" ones for hips. I love it and use it heaps.

NicNac I don't know the sling you are talking about but dd1 had hip dysplasia and was fine in a ring sling which had her in the frog legged position which is how they would sit in her brace as well.

Yep will be fine. As long as you're not putting bub in a baby bjorn or similar, froggy is a really great position for babies with hip dysplasia.

I would think the sling would be fine. Are you in contact with local babywearers for help trouble shooting?
You definitely don't want to a bjorn or some other front pack with a narrow seat for babies with hip issues, no.

Some kids don't like to be contained in particular ways, and you may need to try a few things. Plus, 3 times isn't all that many. My DS loved the hug a bub. my DD HATED it. She loved the ergo. I didn't. It wasn't good for her hips, anyway, due to her hypermobility - she needed more moulded support in a wrap or less-structured mei tai. Anyway, your DS's situation is different.

Thanks all for your replies, puts my mind at ease somewhat. I know three goes at the sling isn't really enough to determine is the sling will work for us, but I forgot to mention in my post that I am a fantastic worrier!
You are right MadB, think i will find my local baby wearers group for some trouble shooting.
