Kitchen bowls used for vomit (TMI ahead!)

We all got gastro on Tuesday and there were not enough buckets to go around so I resorted to a couple of kitchen bowls. I was going to throw them out today after a solid two days of "use" but my DH has told me I'm being stupid, and should just give them a really good hot wash. They're expensive ones - in my less than perfect state I grabbed the biggest and closest which was tupperware of course - so if they can be saved that would be great, but is just washing them ok????

Any pearls of wisdom out there? I can't get my head past ditching them

They'll be fine. Give them a bit of a soak with some milton or food grade bleach then put them through the dishwasher.

My 1st thought was ewww chuck them till you said tupperware!! I would probably soak in boiling soapy water and then put thru dishwasher 2 times.

I wouldn't chuck. Dishwasher and miltons will bring them back to ship shape.

Thanks ladies. Will give them a milton bath and then dishwasher and see how I feel about them then. See how many times I push them to the back of the tupperware drawer ;-)

I wouldn't throw them either, treat them the same as sanitizing baby bottles super hot wash and detergent.

Nah don't chuck them out. As what others said, good bleach and disher two or ten times. We put raw meat in bowls and then wash it so a bit of spew can't be that much worse ;)
