I'm doing photo books for the first time and have nearly finished my first one :clap: Man they are fun but hard work!
Anyway, I'm working on DD1's 1-2 year old album and I can't decide where to put birthday photos. Should I start with her 1 year old birthday pics or finish with her 2 year old birthday pics??

Yeah, I think that sounds good.
If you are going to do one every year, I would start with the birthday pics. So 1st bday at the front and on through the year. Next book, 2nd bday pics and on until the 3rd, etc.
If you are doing one each year, and put both birthdays in the same book, you will end up with every second book not having birthdays...
Did you have her first birthday in her first year album? If so, I would leave 1st birthday out altogether & end with her 2yo birthday pics. If not, include both.
I'm doing these yearly too. I've decided to start each year with that years birthday pics, so the 1-2 year her first birthday pic and the 2-3 year her second birthday pics. I guess it just depends on what you want to do and then continue it.
I am doing last years birthday pics (e.g. 1 year old party pics in 1-2 year book), cos i got DS photo book done before his party so i could show the book to people who haven't seen him much in the past year at the party.
Thanks girls. I did an old fashioned :lol: album for DD1's first year - I printed the pics and put them in an album! Seems so archaic now! That album finishes with her first birthday pics. However, I think I'll probably go back and do a photo book for her first year (so they all match) so I can leave the first birthday pics out and put them in the album I'm working on now. I'll put her second birthday pics in the 2-3 yr old album.

I do ours a little different, it's by year so the birthday pics go in chronological order :)
Ah, that is different! I'd never thought to do that. Well I'm almost done so I'll have to stick with annual ones by age. Thanks for all your tips though hon, you've really started something here :D:
I end the book with birthday pics, a photo comparison of her growing up (448am each year on her bday) and a letter written to dd for her bday. Start the next year with pics and finish with birthday, conparison of her growth, and letter again...
Often her party is a few days before her actual birthday and forms part of that year. Plus I do "first year" "second year" and end it with first birthday or second birthday kwim?
Photo books are great fun and feel like a massive achievement when they're done!

Yes ours are annual family books, various special events are in order with other pages like the park or whatever to break it up in between, ending with NYE. They always end up being 100+ pages and I have to order 3!

Hestia - can you order more copies of your books down the track? I've just ordered one for now but suspect I'll need to get two of each book really.
