My fertility specialist has prescribed me pregnyl shots at 4 dpo and 8 dpo. Have read that this injection is to promote ovulation so I'm wondering why he would want me to have it after ovulation?
I'm really confused!

Its also used luteal phase support- I've used it for that before :) don't worry all is well :)
I had my first pregnyl shot to trigger ovulation, and then pregnyl injections three times per week throughout the entire first trimester, as well as progesterone tablets daily too. Mine was to boost my hormone levels to sustain the pregnancy. I was falling pregnant very easily, but then miscarrying
Thank you so much for your replies, after 6 miscarriages over the last 3 years I'm tired of failure. When my FS went from progesterone to pregnyl with no form of explanation at all I got a bit worried. I will sleep tonight, thanks again :)
So sorry to hear you've had such a bad run

I'm very sorry for all your losses. Its incredibly exhausting and stressful to lose pregnancy after pregnancy. Sounds like your FS has the same thinking that mine did - conception isn't the problem, but maintaining the pregnancy. FWIW, it was successful for me the very first time. I wish you just as much luck.
LuluHB, sounds like our FS are thinking the same thing. Nt only do I have to have pregnyl shots after OV I also have to take prednisilone orally and have daily Clexane shots for the first trimester. I'm so glad your first time on pregnyl was successful and I'm hoping with all my heart that is the case for me, thanks again :)
You could do one every day and look for the line to go light (indicating the pregnyl disappearing from your system) and then see if it starts to darken again or not.
TBH I think its always going to be dodgy when you're having regular shots and if you're sensible, you shouldn't do a HPT at all and just wait for bloods. Of course, I don't take my own advice and so I POAS in the morning that my next pregnyl injection was due (I was having a shot every third day so roughly 72 hours after my last shot). I got what I would describe as a medium sort of darkness on my BFP but I had no confidence at all and was actually really surprised when they rang with my blood results and a BFP
If you had bloods today then you might get an accurate result but it depends on when you ovulated - your numbers could be so low though that its inconclusive with the pregnyl confusing things IYKWIM. When has your FS suggested you get them done?
I think patience is one of the hardest things about TTC! I never had any either. Good luck!
