No more movement..
Hi, I am a bit worried about lack of movement. I am almost 19 weeks and had been feeling movement every day for about a week. It's always around now when I relax after work. But the last 3 days I haven't felt anything. I just laid on the couch for 30 minutes and got nothing :(
So I just wanted to know if this happened to anyone else? Is this normal or should I be worried? It is unlikely that will see my OB as they are closed till Monday and I wouldn't get in on Monday anyway because I have to work.

Have you tried drinking a really icy cold drink? That usually made my two move.
If you are really worried, can you contact the hospital and ask to have an ultrasound?

No more movement..
Tasha I had days like that as well around the same time. Try a cold drink or and this is a bit naughty a coke.
I am sure bubba is just trying to scare you x
-
I hope your right! Thanks ladies. I will try the cold drink and see what happens. I have my 20 week scan next Friday, but that's 7 days away!! lol

I had the same around that time... I'd feel movements for a few days in a row, and then nothing for a few days... now a few weeks on, bub has grown a lot and I'm getting lots of regular movement all throughout the day, everyday.
I'm sure it's cos bubba is still small, but like has been suggested, maybe have half a can of coke and lie down for a bit and see. If you are still worried, I'd definitely chat to your health carer just for peace of mind - or pop into the local hospital as I'm sure they could have a quick listen of bub's heart (or ultrasound if needed).
Let us know how you go

I remember getting warned that its common to feel no movement suddenly around the five month mark. I do t remember whether I experienced it, but I certainly remember getting warned ahead of time.
Big hugs.

it's not uncommon at this gestation to not feel things - for a couple of days - bub is still very small and can move very easily (and start kicking placenta etc which you're not going to feel) - even at 24 weeks, when in the midst of very stressful situation (fire approaching our house and not knowing if it would survive) i was told it wasn't unusual for babe to go quiet, and it only becomes something where they really like you to feel consistent movements at around 28 weeks (from memory)
i know how stressful it is, but try not to let it worry you too much - some people are only feeling early flutters at your gestation due to the position and size of their bub
-
I had a few occasions like that and it scared the begeezers out of me. There's still so much room in there for bub to hide, and depending on his/her position to the placenta there's a whole lot of padding.
Try not to worry (easier said than done I know).
-
Thank you everyone for your reassurance. I did try the cold drink, but still didn't feel anything. I will just try not to stress until next week. I ate a sandwich last night and I thought it moved afterwards, but I can't be certain if it was belly or baby lol.
-
I always find if I lie on my tummy I get a few little pokes, also when I press down on my belly with mine or hubby's hand. Probably annoying the heck out of our poor baby but it usually gives us a reassuring little wiggle :)
-
Im another who had it at a similar gestation. A few days no movement and I freaked too. Try and relax, bub is still so little and what you are feeling is nothing on what he/ she is doing in there. It is scary though.

No more movement..
Hi Tasha, I have my 20wk ultrasound on Monday x
I started feeling movement around 16wks this time, but got very worried at 18-19 weeks as for about 5 days felt absolutely nothing. I went and saw my midwife and she used the Doppler to reassure me that everything was fine. I'm back to feeling movement again, but I know how you would be feeling now x bubby is still small and could just be in a different position x
-
Maybe, laying on my tummy hurts! But I have been poking...lol
Thanks ladies. I just ate an icy pole and I'm pretty sure I just felt some movement :) Hurry Up Friday aaargh!!
ETA: I just ate some home-made pumpkin soup and then straight after it was crazy movement. Felt like 3-4 kicks/pokes in a row! Bub must love soup :)
-
So glad you've felt reassuring amounts of movement again!
-
It was such a relief! Thanks :)

No more movement..
Happened to me too, but now i'm 22 weeks and the kicks are super strong and much more frequent now. Little bubba's just getting stronger and stronger.
