Amniotic Band (Synechiae)
I had an US yesterday at 15+1 and picked up the pics and report today.
The report says : There is an amniotic band (synechiae) on the left lower aspect of the uterus.
Then there is a Comment : A small synechiae is noted. Dedicated morphology study is recommended between 18 an 22 weeks.
Mum and I have no idea what this means and my OB is away til next week so I turned to Dr Google and scared the daylights out of myself when pictures of bubs with deformities popped up infront of me . Reading on, I think that an amniotic band is actually different to a synechiae. It seems the synechiae can simply be scarring from a previous D&C? Or in my case, a termination from many years ago. But I have also read now that because it is low in the uterus it can lead to premature birth, low birth weight and c/s?
Sorry its all muddled up. Has anyone got knowledge of this kind of thing or experience?
TIA from a very worried FTM x
