Hi
Anyone been to Mana Resort in Fiji recently? The resort we've booked into now won't be open in time for our holiday (due to reopen 1 April following damage from Cyclone Evan in December). We've been offered Mana as an alternative. Anyone been there recently and what was it like?

The Mana resort website says they won't be up and running until April 1 either.... is it the same one I wonder?

Ausgirl - it is the same one - they're doing repair work at the mo which is "supposed" to be on track. Supposed is the key word here- Malolo was supposed to be finished by 1 April and we booked it in mid January on that basis and 4 weeks later its new reopening date was 1 August!
Quite a number of the resorts are still closed and won't reopen until July so choices as to where we go if we go to an island are very limited. Can't reschedule as this holiday was already rescheduled from last year when it had to be cancelled when my Dad passed away.
I'm here!!! And I've replied in our thread. We are BACK! Now to get Kel and Sanchez back on board.
Oh AM, you'll LOVE Fiji!! Can't comment on that particular resort but FIji is amazing. We've been to Vanuatu too and Fiji is much better IMO. Lucky bugger!!

I spent half my honeymoon at Mana but that was 2009. It was lovely, probably better for a family holiday rather than a honeymoon but we had a lovely time anyway. Lots for kids to do, kids club and babysitting etc. Awesome snorkelling!!
I agree with Taurean, Fiji beats Vanuatu :)
I love Trip Advisor, people post reports daily upon their return so you can get a current state of affairs snapshot. Some places are run down so its important to check, and quite a few are closed until end Mar/Early April due to the cyclone. It depends on budget, what you want from an island etc, as there are loads to choose from but it has to 'fit'.
I went to Blue Lagoon Beach Resort and Nanuya, they were AMAZING.
When are you going?
We were in Fiji in October, we loved it and can't wait to go again. We stayed on an island off Nandi but did a jetski tour over to Castaway and all the little islands its so beautiful and the people were very friendly.
