So as I'm now a Marriage Celebrant :confetti: I'm sure over the years I will experience many different weddings and outfits.
So it's got me thinking about what everyone's opinions would be on Bridesmaids wearing pants - I'm not talking work type pants something like Black Satin dress pants teamed with a really feminine top. I personally think it would be a good bridesmaid option, especially for low key type weddings, second or more wedding etc.
What are your thoughts???
Not a fan. Weddings say dressy - regardless of what the guest wear, I would want my bridesmaids to have a pretty dress.
I think for a more mature wedding it would be lovely! Like you suggested a second wedding etc. I know a friend of mine was the grooms best person as they were best mates and she wore pants and looked awesome! She didn't dance with the matron of honor at the reception or anything LOL
Depends on the overall style of the wedding, along with whether the style of the pants suits the wearer ;) Honestly they could be no worse than some of the dresses I have seen bridesmaids forced to wear.
Nothing against pants if that's what the bride wants.
I was going to wear pants to my wedding but I couldn't find a tailor who could make an ao dai in time so I wore a red dress instead.

I think whatever the bride and bridesmaids want to wear is fine. I couldn't give two hoots if the bride is in a burka and the bridesmaids are in bikinis, as long as the marriage is genuine and the bridesmaids are supportive. I've seen too many weddings where the bridesmaids wished the happy couple ill and didn't want to be there, better a pants suit and an honest gesture than a pretty dress and malicious intent.
Wow that was deep for a question about pants. My answer seems so lacking of thought now! But I agree with you regarding your sentiments - I feel that way too - but I still like dresses - but hey, they could wear a hessian sack, cause everyone knows it's all about the bride anyway right;):
why do we get an opinion on what people choose to wear at theit wedding? its up to the bride and groom (with hopefully some input from the bridal party so they are comfortable) no one else. they canbe naked for all I care if tgats what they want
Adding to that, during my training we were told of a celebrant who officiated at a nude wedding - not just the bridal party but all the guests as well - and the couple asked the celebrant to be naked as well. The celebrant chose to wear a floaty dress instead but said it was an interesting sight when all the men sat down with leg open, she said she didn't kow where to look lol.:

when we got married the celebrant knew we weren't having a normal mainstream wedding. when we started going through the details she said to me that she would support us and what ever where ever we wanted but if we were going to be naked she personally wont be naked. thats the one thing she wouldnt do(we werent)
My mum got married in a brown suit - in the 70's. Whatever the couple who are getting married are hapy with.
If it suited the bride/groom's personal style I'd think it was ok.
I'd personally never have a clothing choice like that at a wedding, I'd not like it even for guests, but then again I'm a traditionalist and wear dresses (or nice tailored skirt & top), hats (and even sometimes gloves) to weddings.
Whatever the bride and groom want, it's up to them at the end of the day.
