braxton hicks and magnesium
Just wondering if anyone has used magnesium to help alleviate and or minimize Braxton hicks? I always get Braxtons fairly early and strong during pg, but usually only start getting noticeable from around 20wks and not really annoying until about 30wks. This time I was getting them quite definitely from 13wks! And they're kinda getting frustrating the past few weeks. Anyway I spoke to a friend who's also a Dr and was recommended I take extra magnesium to see if that helped. Only problem is I kinda forgot to ask howuch I should take -oops. I took one tablet a day for a few days (the 'normal' dose for leg cramps etc) this didn't really do anything so I've been taking 2 a day (recommended on bottle for pg) but it doesn't seem to be making a difference either *sigh* So I'm undecided wether I should just keep going at this dose or look at maybe a higher dose? Dont get me wrong I realize bh cx are actually a good thing but these are basically exactly the same as what it seems most women get in early labour or the days leading up to. Just I don't really get that I just go straight into full labour after months of this lol they are often a minute or more long building to a point then tapers off, often taking my breath away or at least all my attention. It's not the pain that bothers me I don't actually even take anything for pain during labour/delivery but well I'm busy and its annoying and tiring dealing with this for so long while trying to raise 4 little children and a household etc.
Ok I guess this ended up being more of a vent than anything but if anyone has experience with magnesium helping or anything else I'm all ears! :)
