Can intolerance give fever?

Just wondering I just discovered after trying ds on pineapple for the first time that his body doesn't agree with it he gets really cranky feels unwell and has pineapple smelling diarrhea until it is completely out of his system

I gave him some juice the other day (which had 6% of pineapple juice in it) he then got those symptoms again as well as vomiting his dinner that he had with it (but that was it) and fevers for the next 24 hrs and diarrhea no other symptoms so much like his other reactions ... Can intolerance reactions cause fevers ??

I've never heard of an intollerance causing fevers, I thought fevers fought infection?

Yes they can, I get them from certain intollerances/allergies.

Sopdet how long does fever last? Ds was 24 hrs but he was still feeling warm but no temp for another 12 hrs

I start to get a fever & sweats about an hour after I've consumed the food. If it is a small amount they've usually gone about an hour after I've finished throwing up, which can take anywhere from 2 - 6 hours. If it is a large amount then I can still be ill & feverish for a day or so and it hits within 30 mins.

For me it is a reaction akin to food poisoning.

I'd probably get your DS checked out by the Dr to be on the safe side.

FEVERS can happen with intolerance and allergies: The bodies way to fight the foriegn body ...to get this 'foreign body' to die.

REMEMBER allergic reactions can turn nasty very quickly so if i wouldnt be giving your son any pineapple anything until you do it under a drs watch ...

Yes. dd gets fever with somethings. Really crook for 24 hr and not right for another 24-48 after

so you do suspect intolerance or allergy?

I have been hospitalized from allergy but didn't know it was at the time. Got treated for gastro but took ages to come right. Spent 4 days on iv and wasn't good for about a week after.
Taught me not to be piggy with strawberries lol -i'd eaten a box by myself as a "treat" some treat :rofl:


hope your baby is feeling much better after a good night sleep. Lots of water the next few days to help flush.
I also found probiotics and olive leaf extract helped a lot.

I have a lot of allergys apparently and the symptoms can drive me crazy. my Dr suggested olive leaf extract for 6mths and the difference was awesome.
