I think I've been having a heap of pre labour, particularly last night, but having not done this before, I have no idea what's normal and what's not!
What were your experiences? ANd how long did it go on for?

It just felt like bad period pain for me. With or without tightenings like braxton hicks. Sometimes came in waves, sometimes just a constant crampy feeling. LOL, so all different I guess!! Made me feel a bit sick at times. Hard to remember now but I think it was happening in the last month before birth :)
Exciting! Your body is getting ready!!
I had it from 36w with my second, DD was born at 39+5. It was a mixture of period like cramping to spurts of full on contractions
I had it for about 2 weeks with DD1. It was tightenings every night, from late afternoon to around 1am, with light pain. Felt like my early labour in hindsight. I went into labour with her on my due date.
I had it nearly nightly for 3 weeks with dd3
Just period cramps for me. With tightenings.
However my contractions did not feel like that at all so I knew it was just prelabour
Arimeh what did the contractions feel like compared to the pre labour?
im not sure if what I felt was technically prelabour even tho they did make my cervix favouable.
I had painless tightenings every evening for a couple of weeks. always start at about 6pmish abd always go when I laid down to go to bed. they only time they changed was the night I went into labour and they srarted earlier in the day, by 6pmish I felt heavy with them. its the only way to describe them...still painles but I felt like I was dragged down, like gravity got stronger. then they didnt go away when I laid down that night (instead my waters broke and I went into labour)
Mine mostly happened in the evenings and it felt like period pain, sometimes with tightenings sometimes not, and often accompanied with a very "heavy" kind of feeling, it's hard to describe! This happened from about 36 weeks with DS2 however I didn't experience much at all with DS1.
