Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) - Any bubbas have one?
We just had our 19 week scan and found out that bubs has a ventricular septal defect (VSD) or "hole in the heart". Apparently it's not large and just wondering if anyone has had a bub born with this and what happened?
When I saw the midwife today prior to seeing my OB she said that if it was bad they'd make me deliver at a different hospital near the children's hospital and that I wouldn't be able to have my OB for that etc etc etc.. Said that bubs would have to go straight to the children's hospital. But when I saw my OB he was pretty relaxed and said it was small and to wait for my next scan at 28 weeks to see if it's closed but that if it wasn't large or a cause for concern at the next scan that I'd still be fine to deliver at my planned hospital and with my OB.
Has anyone had this picked up during PG and what ended up happening??

Couldn't read and not post. Hopefully it closes in future scans. It must be such a worrying time for your family. Huge hugs xx
:bumping: hope someone here on bb has a positive story to tell?
Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) - Any bubbas have one?
My DD had one. It was found by chance at an elective 4D scan session. When she was born she was monitored and reviewed by cardiologist. She has never had any problems. It was measured at birth and reviewed at 6 months in that time it closed by a mm or two. By the time she was 2 years old it was the size of a pin and at 3 it had closed up completely. We were very lucky.

My son had a VSD and he had surgery to close it (and others) when he was 3 months old.
