Periods and surgery?
I'm due for my period in the next week sometime. I'm also due to have surgery next week. I know this is a silly question I just don't know. Does having your period affect it in anyway? I'm guessing a pad would be better? I usually use tampons as I find it easier with the heavy flow I get but guessing this wont work as ill be under and then recovery etc.
like I said, silly jut I guess I should know jic I get it when I'm due etc

I think it depends on the type of surgery.

Periods and surgery?
What type of surgery are you having? I don't think it should affect it.

I remember having my period and having my wisdom teeth out. I used tampons then, but I was on day 3 or 4, so wasn't to heavy

Periods and surgery?
It must be stress or something but one year when I had 2x surgeries, my period arrived literally on the day of the surgery both times. You can't wear a tampon because of the risk of toxic shock syndrome if you end up unconscious for longer than expected. I just mentioned it to the nurse who helps you get ready, it wasn't a big deal, happens all the time. In fact so much not a big deal that I can't even remember very well but I think they might have given me a blue protective thing under my bum once I ws on the table. Anyway, weird thing was both times the surgery must've been such a shock to my system that it literally stopped the period dead in its tracks. Lol.

Hope it all goes well... they hand out lots of good pain relief after GB ops, so if you're in pain, make sure you tell them. Mine was a bit ouchy for the first few days, but honestly, just getting rid of the damn thing was such a relief it didn't matter.
