Child support, back pay & FAO payments?
Ex is now owing close to $2000 in CSA payments. He mentioned on the phone the other night, that much to his disgust CSA have been in contact with his employer. So I have a few questions about it all.
When they start collecting from an employer do they only collect the amount he's supposed to pay a week? Or do they take back pay as well? If they take back pay do they only take a small amount each week, or a lump sum amount?
I was recieving my full entitlements from FAO, but once I start recieving CSA I will lose some of my payments. Do they go off the amount he's supposed to pay me, or if they take more to fix the pack pay situation, do they go off that so I lose a more than I normally would?
I haven't actually heard a thing from CSA. Just him mentioning it on the phone. So I have no idea how it all goes down, or how long its going to take. I hope it happens soon!
Another thing... he hasn't put in a tax return for 3 years. If CSA are collecting & he doesn't put it in this year, what are his chances of finally being caught out??
Child support, back pay & FAO payments?
I was in the same position. The csa debt was closer to 10k though and there have been no tax returns for 5-6 years now.
A monthly amount will be taken out of his salary to both cover the monthly requirement and a bit extra to recover the debt, based on what CSA deem to be affordable for him.
If something happens like he quits, changes jobs etc it just stops (as I found out). As far as I know nothing is happening about tax returns. Its been so very painful getting to this point, CSA were useless for a long time but once the workplace payments were coming it was a great regular payment - and a set and forget method for him.
