Housekeeping Interview - What to wear + babywearing

On Monday I have a job interview at a Motel doing cleaning. I'm guessing housekeeping. Anyway, I know from past experience, employment attire is either provided uniform, or white tee-shirt and black pants and shoes. But what shall I wear to the interview? I'm thinking black pants, shirt or nice top, nice (flat) shoes.

And on a slightly different note, I don't have any daycare for Mack (for under three year olds, it's basically impossible, and the wait lists are sooooo long). I'm hoping that I could wrap him up and have him on my back to do the job. I mean, I do at home.... So, if it is my intention to ask that I wear him whilst at work, should I wear him to the interview, so they "know what to expect", in case they are not baby-wearing afficionados? If yes, this means I have to put him on and wrap him up in the car park. And the job is "casual", so I don't even know for how many hours it is for ("mostly school hours").

I wouldn't take him to the interview, unless you know it's just a casual meet and greet kind of scenario.

Be up front with the fact that you want to bring you son to work with you, and be prepared for them to say no, as it is really not normally accepted in the workforce.

Black pants and a nice top should be fine :)

Yes you might clean at home with him but I personally don't think you would be able to do it at work. You'll have like 15-20 mind to clean a whole room - bath, beds, dust, vacuum etc. plus pushing a trolley. I'd try and find someone to watch him. Generally housekeeping starts around 9-10 and do about 4 hours

I was able to wear DS when he was little and i was doing admin type work for a friend. By the time he was 4 months or so (maybe 6?) it became much more difficult as he wasn't so keen to be worn for that long but it wasn't safe to have him on the ground. Now DS is even more on the move, it would just be a nightmare trying to work with him there. The employer wouldn't be getting my full attention for the hours worked.

I was going to say the same. Also their insurance wouldn't cover it.

Thanks, that's pretty much what I was expecting, re Mack. I have looked into fdc, I *might* be able to get a Monday and Thursday, and that's all.

Let them know ur looking into care for him. Being a casual tho is flexibility so be open. Maybe offer nights - cleaning areas that the Public are in during the day
