So, DD (2yo) broke her fibula a few weeks ago and got her cast off yesterday
She won't walk. Her leg is so teeny tiny. She already has skinny legs, but now the ex-broken one is like a strand of spaghetti. She will start seeing PT next week
How long before your little one started walking again?
:hug: do you get the rude comments from old ladies when they see the cast too?? grr. I have no info to help you sorry. DS is walking in his cast as its post operative, not related to injury.

I mean, she's 2. And I have an 8mo. And we were in the middle of hosting a dinner party.
It was hectic! She was standing and just slipped. she landed flat on her feet, but her leg broke.
But usually it's just "Ohhh, poor thing" etc
No idea but DD1 broke her arm last year and when people found out she fell off a trampoline (she was going out of the enclosure to get off and got bounced off) they started lecturing me about having something so dangerous in the yard *roll eyes* She took ages to use that arm again, she was afraid of the pain returning.
She's still on a walking strike. It's so frustrating.

do you a pool nearby with a toddler pool? she might feel more comfortable to start walking in water.
Her leg probably feels a bit stiff after being in the cast for so long. She will eventually use it more and more. The physio will be able to help build up her strength.
Nah, HotI we don't have anything like that.
We've tried to get her to walk behind the push walker (saying things like "Look, DS can do it, so can you") but she just says "No. I no walk"
She's getting frustrated with crawling but just won't walk. She has done a little bit of standing, giving herself lots of praise (us too) "YAY! I standing!"
So, i know it'll come eventually, but it's so frustrating.
Poor little poppet. My Ds broke his femur and was in a wheelchair for 8 weeks. He was 4 so older than your little girl, but he was very scared of standing.
He was given a frame to help but really only needed it for a week. I would keep encouraging her to use the push toy, it will help give her something to balance on. Even get her to to ride one as that will help strengthen the leg.

She is finally walking, Her leg turns out really far and she has a strange limp. Hoping that corrects itself.
