can anyone suggest a company that does wardrobe fitouts? the house we are building comes with just a very thin hanging rail, though I want melamine shelving etc.

I think most cabinet makers would be able to do it if you want a custom job. Some cabinet makers specialise in wardrobes. Or you could DIY with places like Super Amart, Ikea or Howards storage world.
