When could your toddler jump?
DD does swimming lessons for ages 18 months - 3 years, and every child there does a proper jump into the pool. DD waits on the side no matter how much I coax her in, watches the others jump, then waits for the instructor to call her in (I think she's a bit of a show pony lol). But she can't actually jump yet, so she bends her knees, pushes up on to her toes, throws her arms up and chest out and just kind of falls forward in slow motion.
On the one hand it's hilarious, the look on her face is like "I'm flying!" but on the other hand the poor bugger is belly flopping every time if I don't catch her before she hits the water - which I'm not supposed to do, she should be jumping in and swimming to me.
She's a lot smaller than the other kids there so I think maybe she's just younger than them, but does anyone have any clues as to when I can expect the poor thing to stop belly flopping and actually jump?
Re: When could your toddler jump?
I didn't realise but dd is quite ahead in this aspect she's been starting to jump since about 14-15 months. That was the little baby jumps where her feet barely left the ground. Now she's 26months and jumps very very well. Especially on trampolines, which are her current obsession lol
