Many are the same though I know a lot of girls don't like the blue dye tests for evaporation line tendencies. Cheapest- Internet cheapies. You can buy from eBay or local sellers like lullaby conceptions and oracle fertility sell them too. Lots of girls here use first response early response as the most reliable.
Yep, most reliable are First Response. I use eBay cheapies as well, but I don't trust them unless I back it up with a FR. For example, here's the tests I did just this week:

You can't see anything at all on the cheapies, but the First Responses have strong, definite lines. It works the other way, too. This cheap test is from a couple of months ago when I wasn't pregnant (it's hard to see, but there's a second line there):

i always like the pregnosis ones. found them to be super nice and show up a wee (pardon the pun) bit before the FR and were marginally cheaper. but i reckon if you like to POAS alot (like me!) then the cheapies from lullaby are worth a go.
I have always been a fan of first response but I did a test yesterday and it showed up negative and I am now 5 days late so I was thinking maybe i might try a different brand, or I could just show a little patience and wait a few more days ;) LOL
Hmm frer are known to be reliable. Maybe you ovulated or implanted late? Or maybe you've just got a funky cycle this month.
FRER aren't as good as they used to be (I keep getting a shadow of a second line when it's BFN), but they're still the best I know of.
Like Tenibear, I use a combination of ICs (from inpregnancy on ebay) and FRER. I used the ICs to test out my trigger and booster shots during my last IUI cycle and they were still picking up a line the day before my BFN b/t (ie when my hcg levels were very low).
Hmmm so I have stuck with the first response and tested again, still BFN but now (TMI warning) I have brown discharge when I wipe, it's been going on for a day now, I don't have enough that I have to wear a pad just every time I wipe, I think a trip to the docs might be in order :(
I've had similar symptoms when I had an off cycle then had brownish discharge before af started up properly
Brianna how did you go? It's ironic I was offering advice here because now I'm in a similar boat- what looks like a light AF but def. more than spotting started a day early - but I've had two super duper faint frer BFPs, an IC bfn and a clearblue digital 'not pregnant'. If you got AF I hope you're feeling ok about it. :)
Stalking LL ;)
Oh Joeve it looks like proper AF. Bleeding has increased. When I wipe there looks like a lot but it only appears to appear when I do wipe- like it doesn't reach the liner but goops come out onto the toilet paper. Also Google has since informed me that mystery faint lines are quite common on frer. Oh well, I'll test again in a few days just to rule out any doubts then onto the next cycle!
Today I told DD I wanted to make a baby sister or brother for her and she proceeded to rub her vegemite toast into the carpet. Hmm...
No real luck with my situation Ladylove, had a couple of days of brown spotting but no AF, did a test and got a BFN, but now my breasts are so sore and tender and I have been having some crazy cramping, I think I may need to make a trip to the docs for a blood test :(
brianna it is probably worth doing another HPT since you had spotting but no real AF. i have very full on implantation bleeds that mimick AF...
I am actually tossing up at this moment Cassius2 as to whether I should do another HPT or just go to the docs and get a blood test, if I do get a BFP then I will need to make a trip to the docs anyway, I had a moment this morning with some smokey bbq grainwaves, I took one whiff and nearly puked all over my daughter lol Where do I buy the pregnosis HPT's?? I haven't seen them in the supermarket.
Good luck Brianna :)
