Oils???
Hi everyone, ok so I know to be careful with some oils during pregnancy although don't have a clue which ones & why! So my question is for eucalyptus & tea tree oil as having our ducted heating all cleaned & sanitised before peanut comes (the things you do when crazy nesting!) A 10 to 1 part mix is being used to sanitize & has eucalyptus & tea tree in it with other stuff?? Should I be worried/cautious.... I have no idea!! They said it'll heaver a slight smell for about 5 mins when first turned on so was thinking of opening windows & doors etc for a bit?? Thoughts anyone out there....... Thanks :-)

I am not 100% sure but I have heard eucalyptus oil is not good to use in prgancy and in babies. I wish I knew where I read it casue people suggest it all the time for colds etc. Will have a google and see what I can find x

Eucalyptus and Tea Tree oil are both safe during pregnancy.
They are both not safe to apply directly to infant's skin as they can burn.

Awesome, thanks sooooo much to you both for replying & putting my paranoid mind at ease! Might see if local library have the books you recommended LimeSlice thanks heaps! :-) I actually craved peppermint choc in morning sickness stage!? Not long to go now, don't remember being anywhere near this paranoid, exhausted & uncomfortable last time round!! Think paranoia cause know more what 'could' happen, was blissfully unaware last time haha!! Thanks again xxo

Keep in mind too that often it is fake flavouring... ;)
Steering clear of Bay and Basil for example doesn't mean you need to not eat it. This applies to essential oils.
Things like Wintergreen and Pennyroyal nobody shouldn't touch with a bargepole regardless of their pregnancy status.
Clary Sage is great for labour, as is rose on your perineum. So do some further research because some of these are great labour and post partum oils. :) HTH
