Unsettled at night

Dd (7 days old) screams from 8-12 every night you think I'd remember with ds only being 16 months but I don't think he did that either way what the heck can I do? I'm exhausted and so is dh

It's a mixture of wind I think and being awake and wanting cuddles cause every time we out her down she screams looks for food but then only sucks for a minute

But then she is fine during the day will sleep all day and have 5hrs between feeds I try to wake her but it seems an impossible task she will sleep through anything

We are sharing the same DD... Only ours is 10-2. I'm thinking its the day/night confusion scenario

You could try a warm bath, infants friend, we also found a dummy helped. That's all I can remember lol, but from memory it's just something you have to ride out.

I was thinking infants friend ds lived on that lol but it says from 1 month she won't take a dummy and hates baths .... Bugger

DD hates baths but likes showers.. Have you tried that? Or in a bouncer/rocker?

She isn't wanting to cluster feed is she?
Our DD did the same as your DD and we thought it was wind so we just rode out our DD doing it (tried different wind reliefs but they didnt work) in hindsight I wish I'd just put her on the breast but I had seriously cracked nipples at the time so who really knows if my nipples could have withstood that or even if it would have helped.
I know you probably want to just crawl Into bed during that time when you have a newborn but why don't you or your DH try wearing her during this period? Keeps her nice and upright if you use something like a hugabub and you can pat and jiggle to help with any wind pains plus she gets lots of mummy/daddy snug time while you are wearing her.
ETA sorry missed your comment about only feeding for a few sucks so maybe not cluster feeding, but I would try wearing.

I wish I had of known about cluster feeding. It dawned on me about 4 weeks ago! My DD is 11 weeks and before I worked out what she wanted we would have long nights of witching hours.

Ps I have been following your BF journey and you are doing awesome!

She does a cluster feed before this unsettled period and then just falls Asleep after a min but wakes when put down wearing will still have the same Problem of being so tired u wanna pass out lol not good while standing

Jellybean I was told by a pharmacist that its ok to use Infants Friend earlier than one month (and have been with my DS who is now nearly 9 weeks).

I used infants friend earlier then one month two.

Also when your holding her she is getting your bodywarmth, when you put her down that extra warmth is taken away. I use to put a hot water bottle in DD1 bassinet before putting her back down so that she was going onto something warm. She also slept ontop of a blanket and not a cotton sheet and I would sit on the blanket I would put on top of her so that was warm too.
