Still waiting?!
Ok bit of a vent as I'm getting impatient!! Am 5 days overdue?? :wall: DD1 was a week early so was sooooo not expecting this at all!! Thought bub would come at least a week or two early. Have been sitting on a ball 'rotating' a bit to try to move bub along! It's locked in and have been having kinda like period pains for like 2-3 weeks now so getting VERY impatient and anxious! DP doesn't want me going anywhere, feeling useless & bored.....although I know I'll be flat out when bub arrives so I should enjoy it but I can't! I'm also unsure what to do if it doesn't start on it's own, none of the options the MW suggested sound great, eg, first stretching 'my bits' via an internal, second I think was gel and third is the drip to induce. I ended up having the drip with DD1 after 13-14 hours as she wouldn't come so am wondering if this one is just as stubborn! On one hand don't want to feel like I'm 'making' it come but on the other I'm getting bit worried about it (doesn't help when a MW says the placenta is only designed to last 41-42 weeks), and am VERY uncomfortable, feel like it's going to fall out & my belly button is going to fall off as am still stretching! Any advice if anyone's had a similar experience and what you did? Thanks heaps:D

ok Softy.... here was my recipe for getting dd coming....
I had a lovely LONG bath. Added rose oil and lavender oil. Soaked for quite some time.
Then as per the MW instructions we DTD. But instead of the usual "argh i dont feel like this i am doing this because i feel sorry for DH" i really tried to get into the mood, relaxed and had fun ;) (sorry TMI lol). Anyways, contractions started about 2 hours after.... Always worth a shot :)

Lots of people have overdue babies that come in their own time. My biggest boofhead was 10 days overdue. Yet both my girls were a week early. You have to remember that a due date is only an 'estimate' and different babies need different amounts of time inside before they are ready to join the world.
As for your midwife going on about the placenta - she is partially correct. There can be some slight increased risks, but those aren't usually until at least 42weeks pregnant. And not everyone has issues (in fact most women won't). I've know women to go three and four weeks over their edd with no placenta issues at all. And some women have placenta issues eleven though they've gone 'early'.

Thanks for reply's!
Haha little_0 I have heard that DTD brings it on but 2 hours wow! When the MW said they could do an internal 'stretch' I thought how is that really different from DTD?? I told DP this could help and to my surprise he was keen to give it a go!!
Misty, this is why I'm in a pickle of what to do as part of me knows it'll come when it's ready but I'm getting bit stressed about it?? Every night I have twinging pains and lie awake thinking 'is it coming??' Which of course isn't helping at all!
I keep thinking 'ok I'll give it another day' then think the same the next day!?! Would prefer it not to come next Tues as someone we know's b'day, I realise these things can't be helped but we'd like it to have it's own day when we don't know anyone with a b'day, so do I give it another day or so then see if we can help it along a little??? Oh what to do????

My first (DD1) was 2 weeks early and then my second (DD2) overdue so it does happen! I was quite happy about it though because 2 weeks before DD2s due date was Christmas and I was keen to avoid that lol. I was a bit surprised to still be pregnant past her due date though.
No advice as nothing worked to get DD2 moving except time, she did come spontaneously in the end :)

Make plans that will be a real hassle to cancel, or are far away from home and will be a pain in the bum to get back from. I guarantee you'll go into labour either as soon as you have to leave, or as soon as you arrive.

I know part of me (most) is saying let it do it's thing, little 'peanut' knows when it's ready, but still anxious! People have suggested making plans or unpacking as everything is ready to go and has been for weeks! And I mean EVERYTHING!! Have generous supplies of nappies, wipes, bum cream, shampoo's, clothes washed & ready, hospital bags packed etc etc....could not be any more organised!! Even DD1 is asking when is the baby coming!? Also getting sick of people asking me and saying they feel sorry for me, to the point I'm not answering the phone, only mobile cause I can see who's calling! :shhh:

How are you going, Softy? Bub here yet?

Hi TeniBear, thanks for asking but nope still waiting!! Am now 11 days over, have tried a long bath....all that happened was I slept REALLY well!! Was also quite challenging both getting into and out of the bath!! So I've been having very restless nights cause expecting bub any moment! Have had monitoring bub happy & fluid was all ok on Tues, had monitoring again yesterday bub still happy....also had a lovely 'stretch & sweep' uurrgghh!! :o After the 'sweep' apparently I don't need the gel & will be induced tomorrow as it's the last 'weekday' before the 42wk mark on Sunday which they don't want me to go past. So have given little 'peanut' a good go at coming itself and at least I know that tomorrow we will all meet!! :happydance: Will keep you 'posted'! :)

Try a long walk. All my girls were more than 5 days over due & my DS was a couple days early.
All of them after I'd had a big day of shopping, or just going for a walk because I'd had a contraction or 2. Still took a few hours after the walk but with in 12 :)
