So I recently discovered the joy of Chocolate Ripple cake (e.g. the biscuits with cream one) that it seems that all Australians know about - I have never been much of a baker so not sure I will cook a cake again! Anyway friends in the UK were asking me about it as posted on FB, and I was wondering if anyone knows which biscuits you can get in England give a similar effect? (No Arnotts over there or not in most of UK anyway).
Do you know what arnotts are used? I've never made one, but if I know which Aussie biscuits are used, I might know the uk alternative

when I was in Jersey, I used to get biscuits like that from the farm shop! Can't think of their brand but they're more like cookies I guess. One brand you could also try would be Foxes??

McVities Belgian Chocolate Boasters would work but they might be a bit big, or Walkers Chocolate Chunk Biscuits.
I've used the Maryland White Chocolate Brownie cookies before and that was really nice.

I don't know what is in UK, but have also used butternut snaps here to make similar cake, although I think they are Arnott's too, so that probably doesn't help at all.
If you want a bit of extravagance, add bailey's to the cream.
I think you could use lots of different biscuits probably - as long as they turn 'cakey' when wet they will work :)
You can use ginger nut snaps!!
Yep! I checked them out and they make Fox's Chocolate Munch, which look to be perfect :D:

I tried a mix with ginger nuts and choc ripple was nice but ginger nuts don't go as cakey. But the info in this thread is great some things for my UK friends to try.:

i have made it alternating cream and chocolate cream between each biscuit... I put melted dark chocolate into half the cream... Omg its freaking awesome :)
You can make it adults only by putting port, Baileys etc in it. Doesn't take much and it is so yummy.
