Oven advice please

So tonight my oven played the old "exploding door" trick in a bid to force me to upgrade to something that actually works. I don't have a lot of money (well I don't have any, but my credit card has offered to help me out) and I need a standard 60cm electric wall oven. I would like something with a fan that works, not with a separate grill, and with a large volume capacity. I quite like the look of the Westinghouse POR667S but have not had any of their appliances before.

Please can someone recommend brands to avoid or not, and any features that are particularly worth paying for. Also, paying for installation is going to add a lot of $$$ to the cost, is it worth trying this ourselves or do we need a professional?

But don't install yourself, you will not be covered by insurance if anything goes wrong electrically. It's not safe anyway to try.

Yeah I was just discussing that with my hubby. In Scotland you can do a lot more electrical work yourself and it's not considered unsafe so I forget that my insurance will be affected here. I have a man coming to fix my dishwasher on Wednesday so I'll ask him for a price for installation :)

Try appliances online... Most places will price match there price

My electrician friend installed mine and it was about $100 but that was mates rates! I thought you could do electrical stuff inthe UK but yeah, definitely against the law in AU!

hopefully the guy who fixes my dishwasher can do a deal for me then :)

maybe ring the sparky before he comes. if you can hold off on the dishwasher until you have oven it might be cheaper to get all done on one day. (no 2nd call out fee)
