I have milk but don't have any yoghurt or sour cream.

Coconut cream works in some dishes but in pasta it might just be weird.
Do you have butter? You can stir milk into melted butter to make a cream substitute too (1/4 butter:3/4 milk)
I only have margarine. I just found 1/2 a tub of cream in the fridge, do you reckon I could just add 1/2 cup of milk to it?
Otherwise use evaporated milk

You can also stir through a couple of egg yolks (not whites) to the finished dish to give it a beautiful creaminess.
