My 7 year old has a wart on her finger. Dr said to use wartner on it. Silly me mentioned that it might sting a little. She freaked out big time! There was yelling, screaming, crying, pleading. I haven't been able to get her to allow me to apply it. I really don't want it to spread on herself or to her sister. Does wartner hurt that much? Does any other over counter wart remover work and not hurt? Any other advice? Bloody wartner cost a damn fortune too!

Well I could leave it but its quite large and on the hand she writes with. She had been saying it was hurting her at times. The other reason I don't want to leave it is the spreading factor. :-(. I'm conflicted for sure, she seemed pretty traumatized at the thought of it but she does tend to be anxious about things.
We soaked some cotton wool in apple cider vinegar & then covered the wart with the cotton wool & band-aid till it turned black.

I'd google natural wart removal. There are a number of options. One is put a piece of duct tape over it and replace it every few days. Apple cider vinegar is also good. Garlic.
I did a quick google, some of those natural remedies seem a bit dubious to me. I guess it's better than nothing though.
Do I need to keep it covered with a band aid to stop them spreading?
No it's so the treatment has longer to soak in.
The apple cider really did work for us, i didn't think it would but it did.
Put clear nail polish around the wart so the "good" skin is covered and protected. The wart remover didn't hurt then as the wart itself has no nerves.
I used to get warts on my hands and the constant pressure from pens would make them ache. Put a thick bandaid on it to provide padding or get the pen grips while the wart is coming off. It made it more comfortable for me.
Tell her that when I was little my Dad used to cut the top off the wart with a razor blade then dab it with metho. It killed but I never moved for fear he would cut my hand off....
Suddenly the wartner sounds pain free and civilised....
Warts are largely controllable by the mind (yes, I know how that sounds). Do some guided meditations with her about her telling them to go away, and they will. Hypnosis works wonders for warts.
Really lime slice? That's interesting. Hmmm, do I just make up the meditation myself ? Not sure how that works?
You should be able to find something online, I would think, it is quite common. I'll have a look for you tonight and see what I can find. I had it done when I was younger, I had warts all over my hands, was horrible. 4 weeks and they were completely gone and I have never had one since. No drugs, no tuning forks, no Wartner, no razor blades or freezing... Just relaxation and control over my body.

I had one on my elbow when I was a teenager, I put clear nail polish on it, covered it with a bandaid so I wouldn't knock it, and then in a few days it was gone. And its never come back.
And often warts go away by themselves as a function of all-over immune response. I had a nasty one (up my nose of all places) which popped up one time when I was really unwell . It hung around for a couple of years, and then all of a sudden one day I noticed it had disappeared.:
I tried the apple cider vinegar soaked cotton wool and band aid. but it's making her finger all white and pruned like when you are in water for too long. How long am I supposed to leave it on for?

This is what is said about the apple cider........Soak a cotton wool ball in apple cider vinegar and apply directly to the wart. Use a bandaid to fix the cotton ball to the wart. Remove after three to four hours. Repeat every day for three days to start seeing results.
Thanks. I did google but there are sooooo many variations and her finger looked pretty funky when I took it off so thought I'd get the opinion of those who had actually tried it. :-).
