Sunshine Coast Independent (private) school recommendations...

Hi,

We're considering moving up to the Sunshine Coast from the Gold Coast. DS is currently attending an independent school down here (Prep), and we'd be interested in sending him to a similar school on the SC. There seem to be so many options.... Please tell me what school(s) you've had experiences with (good or bad) & whether you'd recommend them. We want somewhere where our kids are valued as individuals & can be part of a community, rather than an authoritarian structure. We also hope that the school will give them a good chance of attending university at the end of it, if they are that way inclined.

Rather stuck between what's on offer at different parts of the coast - there's the Noosa end or the mid-coast section. We're looking at eventually living on acreage, so we'll also have to factor that in a little re travel times etc. Does anyone live up the Noosa end but send their kids to school down South? Or are lots of kids boarding if they're from up North....?

Any thoughts would be most appreciated.

I just got finished talking to my Gp who is a family friend and he was saying they just got finished moving their kids from the local montisorri school due to bullying that the school refused to address due to it being the directors son who was doing it. They ended up expelling the poor boy who was being bullied.... So there is one to avoid!
