Removing clothes and nappy and then 'going' on the floor

HELP!!

The older my twins boys (27mths) has since May loved to remove his clothes including nappy and then playing with the poo he has done.

After a couple of time of this happening I went and purchased all-in-one singlets in the hope that have the clasps at the crutch would help to stop access to the nappy.

This seems to have worked for while but for the past week he has worked out that he can get his arms out of the neck hole in the all-in-one and then slide it down his body and escape, he then removes his nappy which he has already poo'ed in or then proceeds to poo on the floor.

He will also remove his clothes 'just because' he prefers to run around naked so it's doesn't only happen when he has a dirty nappy.

Any ideas on how we can keep the nappy on - better add that he will also happy dirty his nappy and then sit in it as well - so I don't think it is a TT indicator yet. Plus he isn't physically or verbally at the stage to TT, both my boys have ASD and even though this twin has communication skills non of them relate to things he does or can do, all his communication is still copying.

I'm getting over having to clean carpets and then do a shower trip every time - especially when he decides that chasing his brother with handfuls of poo is a huge game and then I end up with 2 poo covered children.

My DD3 is exactly the same, I got the bonds suits that you have to basically bend them in half to put them in - that was our safest bet. She can undo the snaps at the bottom of most all-in-one suits.

We've also taped the nappy on, but she's ripped that off. We've put a cloth nappy cover over the top - she's ripped that off. We've put it on backwards - she's ripped it off.

We are just beginning to get out of the phase now, she can go without any clothes on and she doesn't attempt to pull off her nappy quite as much, so we just keep an eye on her.

Although last night I asked her if she wanted to shower with her brother and she agreed, and proceeded to take her clothes and nappy off. She took her nappy off telling me she had only done a wee, and then her brother started screaming out "poo poo!!!" as he was standing behind her, and there was no poo in the nappy because it was hanging out her bum PMSL

So that was interesting.....

Ah, yes the bonds bend in half all in ones, I'll check and see if they do them in a size 2 (which should work as they have no feet in them).

Doing anything with the nappy won't help as he doesn't even undo the tabs, he just sucks in his tummy and then pulls them off so I'm not even going near nappy pants with him ;)

I'm pretty sure hers are a size 2 - she's only a few months older than your boys - she was born at the end of March 2011 :)

Must just be a lovely stage at that age huh! I have a HUGE poo phobia - I absolutely cannot stand it, so it was really peeing me off most days when she did it LOL

Can you get in touch with early intervention services near you and ask about special clothing??

So I couldn't find the Bonds 'Easysuits' as they are called - a bit of an oxymoron if you ask me lol :)

I did however fund some bonds all-in-one singlets which don't have the envelope neckline which is the problem. I'm hoping these newer ones with the standard neck will curb the removal as there doesn't seem to be enough space to get his shoulders through the neck hole. He might be successful with getting one arm out but it would then get stuck around his neck and under the arm - fingers crossed anyway.

Olive - I'm awaiting for an OT to call me to arrange to be our Key Co-Ordinator for the boys for their ongoing treatment and this is one of the issues on my list for them to help me with.
