Paradise Resort? Yay or Nay?

As the title reads, DH and I are considering staying at Paradise Resort? We have 2 kiddies who will be 22 months and 4yrs. It will probably be 5 nights following 5-6 nights at a family unit at Noosa. DH and I are particularly interested in having a few hours a day of R&R by the pool (I'll hopefully be around 14 weeks pregnant) or put for dinner while the kids go to kids club!

So, who's been and what were the pros and cons? Are the rooms up to scratch?

OR are there any other options on the Gold or Sunshine Coasts that have kids club?

I was reading about this resort on "Trip Advisor" last night. Interesting reviews...
Now I'm confused and not so sure that I want to stay there when originally I thought it would be awesome.

We loved it, we have been twice. The first time it was with just dd1, she learnt to crawl while in the resort's kids club! The second time was with all three, they had the big splash water stuff and dd1 got to use the go karts. It is expensive but getting that time to ourselves was what we needed. We camped at a caravan park the week before and enjoyed that too. The resort has been revamped so isn't as dated. The main downside was food was expensive and all the room had was a microwave so that was expensive.

On the gold coast?

We went in January and loved it! The rooms aren't 5star but they're nice enough. The staff were great, food was good and range of activities excellent.
We didn't have time to use the kids club though.

I went about six years ago. It was fine. Food at the restaurant was expensive and not good. Rooms cheerful but not classy. I think they've renovated since.

Yep it's renovated now, the first time we went it hadn't but it was all completed 2 years ago. We would go back again to get a few days to ourselves.

Thanks everyone! Sounds like a good option, it's about getting some down time together - luxury can wait until the kids are older (or home with grandparents ;) )

Just thought I'd update for any others considering staying at PR.

We are on our last day and have had a great time :)

We booked a regular hotel style room in the renovated section (superior?) and the room is great. A queen bed plus single plus foldway. It is just a regular room but enough space even for a bit of play space near the door to the balcony. Small table with two chair and two stools, armchair but no lounge. Bathroom is small but adequate and has a removeable shower head which has been great for the kids (no bath) and a small step in the bathroom too for the basin/toilet. Chatting to some other guests, the unrenovated rooms are pretty run down, clean but old so they don't look very clean iykwim.

The pool area is wonderful, my boys have had the best time, it does get REALLY busy though :) Both boys enjoyed kids club, especially my Ds1 - 4yrs, who was really worried about me leaving him and then begged to go back the next day!

We had the continental brekkie included (cereal, toast, pastries, yoghurt, fruit) which was great and they had a special gluten free section with cereal, bread and a dedicated toaster for GF - I usually have to ask at most places and wait 15 minutes while someone finds something. The hot "add on" breakfasts are huge and only cost a little extra. I prob would have had cereal in our room though most days if we didn't have it included. We ate quite a bit at the resort, especially dinner as my boys were in bed by 7pm so we got takeaway from the pool cafe to eat in our room and it was always fine (pizza was a fave) We also bought food with us and topped up bread, milk etc at the little shop and often made the kids sandwiches for lunch (if not at Kids Club).

Lots of activities for the kids all day long - my two are currently having arvo naps after 4 hours in the Water Park and pool :)

I'd recommend the place, but be aware it is for kids more than adults. We loved the fact that the place is buzzing by 7am (don't expect a peaceful sleep in) and our kids can run about and be themselves without worrying they are destroying someone else's peaceful and relaxing holiday. It's not "luxurious" but family friendly :) I'd come back, but once kids are hitting their teens they would prob get a bit bored - although there is WiFi ;)
