worried about going to bali during 1st 3 months

Hi girls, me and my partner have been asked on holiday to bali with 2 other couples, to stay in a private villa for 9 days, BUT i am in the dreaded 2WW and by the time we go, i could possibly be almost 3 months pregnant.

I have never been to bali before so i am stressing wether is is safe for us to go, i had a m/c new years day and i think i am just worried in case something goes wrong again :( on one hand im thinking its a great excuse to go for a relaxing holiday before we have a baby, and on the other hand im worrying if it is safe. Also if i have a rough early pregnancy with sickness or something, is it going to ruin the holiday anyway?

Has anybody else travelled during this time or have any opinions or suggestions for me?

I travelled at the beginning of the 2nd tri thru Cambodia and Vietnam and it was awesome. I was more cautious with what I ate and drank, and allowed time for arvo naps. itwas good timing because my morning sickness eased just before I left, and I wasn't too big and uncomfortable.
we also got health travel insurance so we were covered if I had any problems.

I went to Bali when I was 5 weeks pg with DD2, for 2 weeks. Loved it! Ditto HotI on the being a bit more careful about what I ate, but otherwise it was fabulous to relax and to spend special time with my two older children before we became a family of 5. The only time I was a least bit concerned was when the massage lady (who came every day!) massaged my belly very deeply. As much as I knew it wouldn't harm to pg, I told her I was pg and asked her to avoid my lower belly!!

Go for it, it'll be lovely to have a relaxing holiday before a baby.

Yeah my only concern would be morning sickness. I literally cannot move or do anything when I have MS so I would make sure you keep tours/plans to a minimum in case you just want to lounge around the pool sipping mocktails.

Your body is designed to protect your baby. They will be just as safe in your belly in Bali as in Australia. Normal food guidelines for Bali would apply: avoid pre prepared fruit and salad and drink bottled water etc. the hardest thing will be avoiding icy cold beer when you're down on the beach!

I went on my honeymoon at 15 weeks and it was great. I was pretty worried about going in the lead up as I hadn't been before and wasn't sure what to expect. My Dr said to go and have fun! I stayed away from salads and the other common no no's and mainly ate well cooked food. I tried to stay away from ice in my drinks (mocktails =) ) but sometimes i forgot to request no ice and had no issues. A lot of the people i spoke to over there said the ice from the bigger hotels was generally fine anyway.
